This project involves replacing the Pensacola Bay Bridge from Escambia to Santa Rosa County, Florida. This design-build project includes the construction of two, independent SR 30 (US 98) bridge structures across Pensacola Bay and replacing the existing 3-mile long Pensacola Bay Bridge. The project also includes approximately three miles of widening of US 98 to a 6-lane facility inclusive of bike lanes, 10’ wide shared use path and aesthetic street lighting. Further improvements consist of multiple utility adjustments and realignments including negotiating and implementing Utility Work Schedules with eleven (11) separate public and private utility agencies. Major utility relocation work includes constructing over 2,000 LF of 24” diameter PVC and Ductile Iron water main, relocating portions of gas mains and services within the bridge approaches in the City of Gulf Breeze, and relocating and adjustments to several thousand lineal feet of buried fiber optic cables providing communication and television networks for Gulf Breeze, Pensacola, Pensacola Beach and surrounding communities. VIA is a subconsultant to Eisman & Russo on this project.
