This unique State Materials Office initiative, consisting of 3.3-miles new rigid concrete pavement test sections roadway improvement, is divided into two phases. This first phase constructed the necessary drainage system including several ponds and box culverts, subsoil removal, column supported embankment with a load transfer platform, installed MSE Wall and construction of the roadway pavement section to the bottom of the stabilized subgrade. The project also involved construction of a new operational building for monitoring the new pavement sections and as well as significant utility relocation prior to and during construction.
