This reconstruction project consists of the complete demolition of four existing bridges and the construction of eight new FIB bridges in their place. In addition, the project will construct new ramps, ramp realignments and roadway widening of I-10 from four lanes to six lanes. This project features a large CSX railroad yard within the interchange and bridge reconstruction limits and provides a unique coordination opportunity. This project also includes two-phase mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) walls, critical sheet pile walls, roadway widening, asphalt resurfacing, box culvert extensions, jack and bore pipe installation, overhead sign structures, high mast lighting, conventional highway lighting, signalization, contamination assessment and remediation (CAR), 3,000 LF of 12” water main installation and 800 LF of 6” force main installation.
