DUNE RESTORATION PLANTING

This FEMA project through the City’s continuing CEI contract to re-establish dune vegetation along 9 miles of Jacksonville Beach front that was damaged by Hurricane Irma. This project included the planting of sea oats and other specialized dune plants on a grid format including establish the vegetation. The project also required close coordination with turtle nesting activities as well as shore bird nesting activities on a daily basis.
