This bridge repair project, through an emergency CEI contract in Clay County,  included the installation of steel pile supported crutch bents to support the existing bridge foundation that was compromised during Hurricane Irma. The project was required to comply with FHWA/FEMA equipment and specifications to qualify for funding reimbursement. Work included pile installation, steel erection, high-strength bolt tensioning, welding, painting and rip-rap installation. It was crucial that the project was completed on time, due to hundreds of Clay County residents that had an extended commute while the bridge was out of service.
