This Flexible Pavement Reconstruction Project for FDOT District Two was on US 90 from west of McDuff Avenue to east of Stockton Street in Jacksonville, Florida. The work site spanned just under one mile and included the installation of 6,500 LF of new drainage, 133 structures, 1,900 LF of underdrain, new 16” water main, removal of contaminated material, full-depth roadway reconstruction, box culvert repair, lateral ditch excavation, sidewalks, ADA ramps and signalization. Specific challenges with the project included the significant utility coordination required due to the age of the existing utilities including a 1929 AT&T duct bank, 69 KV buried electric transmission line, and existing WM and sanitary sewer lines, the very limited construction widths, maintenance of traffic due to limited right of way, and countless unknown/unforeseen utilities and conditions. VIA was a subconsultant to RS&H on this project
