This project through the City’s continuing CEI contract which consisted of the reconstruction of Lomax Street as a one-way street between Park Street and Oak Street and the reconstruction of the Five Points Intersection. The Lomax Street work included the removal and reconstruction of all existing roadway, parking spaces, and sidewalks. In addition, a new JEA water main and water services was installed as part of the project. The Five Points Intersection area was realigned to improve traffic flow and pedestrian safety. The project included new hardscaping, landscaping, and decorative street lighting. This work included concrete and asphalt removal, drainage removal, roadway construction, concrete pavement, drainage construction, brick paver sidewalks, curb and gutter, street lighting construction, signalization, utility adjustments, sodding, pedestrian cross walks, benches, bike racks, landscaping, and more.
